Meet Alex Dekker
Green Beret | Author of Desert Heist | Intelligence & Special Operations Expert | Storyteller
Alex Dekker served nearly 20 years in the U.S. Army Special Forces as a Green Beret, including assignments with 5th Special Forces Group and the United States Army Special Operations Command. His career took him on multiple deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan, and locations around the world, operating in complex environments where adaptability, trust, and decision-making under pressure were essential.
But Alex’s story extends far beyond Special Operations. An Arabic speaker, avid student of history, and participant in archaeological digs around the world, he holds a master’s degree in Applied Intelligence from Georgetown University and has spent years living and traveling abroad.
Those experiences became the foundation for his debut thriller, Desert Heist, which combines the authenticity of a former Green Beret with Alex’s lifelong fascination with history, archaeology, intelligence, and international adventure. Published by Simon & Schuster, the novel introduces former Green Beret Nate Wilde and launches a new action-adventure series rooted in the worlds Alex knows firsthand.
Today, Alex brings that same combination of real-world experience and storytelling to speaking engagements, media appearances, brand partnerships, literary events, and strategic collaborations.
